History of Mission With A Vision
David and Rita Flora felt called to witness to the Nations since 1998, but did not know where
until 2000.  They both accompanied Andraé Crouch on a mission trip to Ghana Africa.  On the
way to Ghana, they decided to travel through Amsterdam for a few days of pleasure.  Entering
the city they instantly felt the need to preach the Word of the gospels.

One of the main tourist attractions that Amsterdam is known for is the “Red Light District”.
People seem to flock to this area upon arrival to the city.  This is probably due to the fact that
they can not believe that a city would actually allow naked women to pose nude behind a
window just waiting for their next customer.

In September of 2003, Rita was spending time with the Lord and He spoke clearly to her
saying, “You know the street you did not walk down.  That is where I want you to go and
minister.”  Rita knew right away where God meant.

Rita and David returned to Amsterdam in October of 2004.  Upon their arrival they met with
ministries already established in the city.  Afterwards they walked the streets praying for
direction from the Lord for their ministry.  As they walked the streets, they came to the “Singel
District” and the Holy Spirit let them know that this was the area they were to minister.  They felt
especially called to the ladies behind the windows.  Rita and David did not know at the time that
there was another area other than the official “Red Light District”.  They later found that the
“Singel District” area has around 150 windows with 3 shifts a day.  There are approximately 450
ladies needing to be saved from this horrible bondage.

The Lord has led them to open a café as a means to minister to the ladies, as well as others
that will be drawn to this café.  The Lord has directed David and Rita to demonstrate his gospel
through their love to these lost ones.  As it states in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”  God wants David
and Rita’s light to shine brightly and the café will be their lighthouse.

They moved to Amsterdam on March 31, 2005 and have been laying the foundation of their
ministry through prayer as they walk the streets daily for hours.  During this time they have built
friendships all over the city.  In the process they have been able to minister to drug addicts and
some of the ladies behind the windows.
